China Mobile has yet to start any former negotiations with Apple Inc. about selling the iPhone to its customers. China Mobile currently has 380 million subscribers roughly 30 percent of China's population, and it is expanding rapidly into rural areas. China Mobile stated that they are open to discussions; however, conflicted business models have prevented any formal contract between the two companies.

China Mobile announced that they are no longer in talks with Apple Inc. to bring Apple's iPhone to the market in China. China Mobile reported that Apple wanted between 20 and 30 percent of fees related to data services, including downloading games, music, and websites, for all iPhone users. China Mobile is currently negotiating with Apple Inc. to bring iPhones into China. The deal is far from over and the companies need to work out the difference over revenue sharing, said CEO Wang Jianzhou.
