Netflix announced Thursday plans to start offering a new service to deliver movies directly to the television later this year. The plan includes using a set-top box produced by LG Electronics that will download media over the internet and then display it on the television. The new device will allow consumers to purchase and view rentals almost instantly as apposed to waiting a few days for the mail. LG Electronics did not specify how much the set-top box would initially cost.
