Facebook Announces Friend Connect (www.thestandard.com)

Facebook launched a new open api Friday named Friend Connect. Friend Connect allows other sites to provide Facebook authentication. Google also announced Google Friend Connect just one hour earlier as the two companies continue to battle over Internet market share.
