Microsoft is looking to beat Google in becoming the default search engine on Internet enabled phones from Verizon Wireless. Under the agreement, Verizon would receive payments of $550 to $650 million over the next five years from Microsoft, nearly double Google's current offer. Although, currently the number of mobile searches is relatively small, the market is expected to drastically grow within the next five years.
