Apple Sells Unlocked Phones in Hong Kong (www.marketwatch.com)

According to media reports, Apple Inc. is selling unlocked iPhones in Hong Kong that allows the device to operate on any wireless carrier. Until now, Apple has tied the phones to service contracts with certain vendors. In Hong Kong, the unlocked iPhones will sell for the equivalent of $695 U.S. for the 8GB version and $798 U.S. for the 16GB version.
