Cisco Systems announced Friday that it has agreed to buy Jabber. Jabber makes instant messaging technology, which many other messaging software including Google's GTalk is built on top of. Cisco is planning to incorporate Jabber's instant messaging protocol into many of its commercial applications including WebEx and Cisco Unified Communications.
