Electronic Arts reported on Monday that it has withdrawn its offer to acquire Take-Two Interactive for $2 billion. This ends the company's five-month hostile take-over bid for the make of the Grand Theft Auto series. Electronic Arts stated that it withdrew its offer as the economics of the deal no longer made sense as EA was only looking to close a deal if they could complete the transaction in time for this years holiday season.
