Amongst a growing concern for consumer privacy, Yahoo has agreed to allow users to turn off targeted advertising on its websites. Last week the House Committee on Energy and Commerce asked Yahoo as well as 32 other Internet companies to disclose information pertaining to the data they collect from its web users and how that data is used with advertising. The new move will make it much harder for Yahoo click based ads to gain revenue.
