Google has released a new music search service in China to provide music for free to its Chinese users. The new service provides efficient indexing capitalizes for users to access free music available from Top100.cn a site which allows users to download or stream music for free. Users outside of China are block from accessing music. Top100.cn is web site has already struck licensing agreements with over 100 labels and is currently in negotiations with Sony BMG and Warner Music Group. Over 99 percent of all music download in China is pirated. The entire Chinese music market only grossed $76 million last year despite the huge potential market.
