Cisco Systems Inc. reported higher then expected earnings Tuesday and announced that it expects the economic slowdown to be relatively short-term for the company. CEO John Chambers noted that he was very confident on the company's ability to achieve 12 to 17 percent revenue growth. The company reported earnings of $2.0 billion or 33 cents per share compared to $1.9 billion from the same quarter a year prior.
