China Mobile, the largest wireless carrier in China, dropped nearly 8.2 percent Monday as the government released plans to merge smaller operations in order to increase competition. The 8.2 percent drop, the largest drop for the company in over six years, instantly lost the company $26 billion dollars in market cap. Under the government plan, China's two largest fixed-line companies will also become wireless carriers directly competing with China Mobile.
